The 2014 Florida State football schedule comes out Thursday afternoon. We know it consists of conference road games at NCSU, Miami, Louisville and Syracuse, home games against BC, Clemson, Virginia and Wake. Also, FSU hosts Notre Dame and UF, while playing Oklahoma State at a neutral site.
The certain items on the schedule that are apparently locked in are as follows:

But what would the perfect schedule look like? How would you slot the bye weeks? Where would you put the two bye weeks? Would you play a Thursday night game?
Our FSU Ed put together his ideal schedule, and it looks pretty darn good.

However, I don't think there is any way the conference would do it. For one, FSU's projected four toughest opponents in division (sorry, Syracuse and Wake) would be dispatched within the first six weeks of the season. That's great for FSU purposes, because those teams all lost a lot to graduation, but I don't see any way that the ACC would want to rob the division race of all drama that early (I use "drama" loosely, as I know the division comes down to FSU v. Clemson, but still).
The bye week before Notre Dame is very nice, as the Irish might be the toughest opponent the Seminoles face, and the Virginia home game before Miami, with Wake at home after, is also nice. And the bye week before Florida is great.

-Atlanta 5-star defensive end Lorenzo Carter has moved his visit back by 48 hours due to a basketball conflict.
-UF is coming hard after FSU 5-star receiver commit Travis Rudolph. Charles Kelly and another coach (I assume Lawrence Dawsey, as Rudolph is a receiver) will make an in-home visit this week and try to make sure Florida is unsuccessful at getting him to visit, etc.

Source told me FSU backup Jacob Coker had decided on Alabama in August. He denied this, but did say he would graduate after spring or summer
