Rivals ranks him as the sixth-best athlete in the class, and 247 has him 14th at that position. ESPN ranks him No. 5 among safeties, and Scout says he's the sixth-best safety.

Burgess-Becker has solid size and should eventually play at 200 or more pounds. He displays very good quickness and first-step acceleration. Burgess has good, but not track-star type speed. It's more than adequate for playing safety.
Burgess-Becker also shows good change of direction, which will help him in coverage. He is somewhat raw in his technique and will benefit from not playing both ways once he gets to college. I do like that Burgess-Becker seems to instinctively get good jumps on the ball in the pass defense game.
The hands on Burgess-Becker are good, and he does a good job catching over the shoulder at times. He also has good moves after the catch.
I do think Burgess-Becker's ceiling is higher at safety than at receiver, because he is only 6'1 and is not a burner with tremendous top-end speed. His highlights do not show much of him coming down against the run, but if he can consistently show the hitting ability against the run that he does against the receivers, he'll be fine.
I think Burgess-Becker is appropriately rated as a four-star and a top-150 or top-200 player nationally. He profiles as a potential multi-year starter at the highest levels of college football.
