The St. Louis Rams drafted Florida State defensive back Lamarcus Joyner with the 41st pick, in round two. He is the second Seminole to be picked in the 2014 NFL draft.
Out of the famed Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas School, Joyner has been one of the best players in the state of Florida since 2007. The former 5-star was one of Jimbo Fisher's first huge signings, and many elite players followed him to Talahassee. He excelled at both safety and corner for Florida State, and was almost always the fastest player on the field, a true heat-seeking missile despite not always having the best 40-yard dash times. FSU's coaches loved Joyner from the moment they laid eyes on him, and he is an example of how truly special players can overcome their lack of size. Joyner also has the arms of a much taller player.
