The Florida State University Chapter of Uplifting Athletes will hold its inaugural Lift For Life event July 11.
Lift For Life is the signature fundraising event for the Uplifting Athletes nationwide network of 25 college football student-athlete led chapters.
The Seminoles' Chapter will continue its mission of raising awareness and research dollars for Fanconi anemia, the chosen rare disease of the FSU Chapter, by holding a Lift For Life from 4-6 p.m. on July 11.
"We are so excited for our very first Lift For Life," FSU Chapter President Kevin Haplea said. "We can't wait to put on a great show for our fans and continue our fight against Fanconi anemia."
The Seminoles' Lift For Life will take place inside the Albert J. Dunlap Athletic Training Facility on the campus of Florida State University. The Lift For Life is open to the public, and after the event is over there will be a chance to meet the defending BCS National Champions.
In order to watch the Seminoles go through this offense vs. defense themed workout with sandbags, tires and vans the chapter is asking fans to contribute $10 per adult and $5 for children and students. The admission fee will serve as a donation to Fanconi anemia research.
