Preston Williams is a tall wide receiver recruit, and he's one of the absolute best in the class of 2015.
Williams, out of Lovejoy High School in Hampton, Ga., stands 6'4 and weighs in at 200 pounds. As of June, he's rated as a five-star prospect by Scout and 247Sports, and a four-star by Rivals and ESPN. Scout and 247 rank him No. 1 at his position, and the 247Sports Composite (a compilation of data from the four major recruiting services) lists him as the 24th-best player in America, the best receiver and the fifth-best player from the state of Georgia.
Williams has drawn interest from several top programs, mostly in the Southeast. He holds scholarship offers from Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, South Carolina, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Miami and Ohio State, among others.

There is a lot to like about Preston Williams. First, the receiver has ideal size at 6'4 (some say 6'5) and 200 pounds. He certainly looks the part, both in person and on tape.
For relative to his size, Williams has a very nice blend of speed and acceleration. The acceleration separates him from many other big receivers, who take longer to reach their top speed. His speed allows him to be a run-after-catch threat and someone to whom a college offense might throw screens and short balls, knowing that he can take them the distance.
Williams also shows the ability to go up and get the football, and he makes some tough catches in his highlight.
At the next level, Williams will be asked to put on more muscle so that he can better handle the press with his length, and work on his route running. If he can become a good route runner, he will be less predictable as a player, making all of his routes more effective.
Williams is capable of having an early impact in college. I do not know if Williams is the best receiver in the country, but he is certainly in the conversation.
