Florida State sophomore receiver Jesus Wilson was arrested Wednesday on a charge of Grand Theft Auto in the third degree. This, according to the Leon County Sheriff's booking report. No information is provided in the booking report other than the charge, which is a felony.
The Times-Union was told by a source that requested anonymity that "Wilson had been involved with a long-running dispute with another student over ownership of the mo-ped."
The arrest report, however, tells a different story.
Under Florida State University policy, any athlete charged with a felony is immediately suspended until the matter has reached a resolution.
This is Wilson's first brush with the law during his time at Florida State of which Tomahawk Nation is aware. Under Florida law, the charge of grand theft auto in the third degree carries a maximum sentence of five yeas in prison, five years probation and up to a $5,000 fine, upon conviction.
Wilson is competing to be the starting slot receiver for the Seminoles. A hard worker from Miami (Fla.) Columbus High School, the 5'10 receiver also has some experience working as an outside receiver in practice. He has 23 career receiving yards.
