Derrick Green believes Auburn's coaches will not be fired
Running back Derrick Green's visit to Auburn wasn't exactly well-timed. The Tigers were blown out by Georgia, and the crowd booed and left early. Still, Green had a lot of positive thoughts on his visit, and apparently took in a very different atmosphere than the one shown on TV. He spoke with Rivals.com.
"It's always good to get back to Auburn and visit with the coaching staff," Green said. "This was my first game day at Auburn and it was amazing. They didn't come out with the 'W', but the crowd still showed up despite the record. They showed me love.
"I watched Tiger Walk, the eagle fly, all that. To have the crowd show up and show the team a lot of love even though they aren't having the best season, I was surprised and impressed. It was nice to see that."
He even believes that Auburn will not fire Gene Chizik and the rest of his coaching staff. Bruce Feldman, and many others, disagree.

The Richmond (Va.) Hermitage High School star is still considering Michigan, Tennessee, Oregon and recent entry Miami. At this point, most believe Michigan is in the best spot for his signature due to program stability.
He told 247sports that Michigan is in good shape.
"When I went on my [October 19] visit it was good," Green told Matthews. "Obviously it was my official. It was my first game there as well. I had a real good time. It's always good to speak to the coaching staff there as well.
"It was a good visit."
Green will likely commit close to signing day as he continues to evaluate all of his options and waits to see about the coaching situations at Auburn and Tennessee.
Despite loss, Alabama's atmosphere impresses Laremy Tunsil
Alabama failed to beat Texas A&M over the weekend, but it did manage to impress consensus five-star offensive tackle recruit Laremy Tunsil. And importantly, Tunsil brought along his mother. As anyone who follows recruiting knows, recruiting mom is sometimes almost as important as recruiting the kid himself.
Tunsil was also met on the visit by five-star Alabama running back commitment Derrick Henry. It looks to be a battle between Alabama and Georgia for Tunsil, but Scout.com is apparently hearing that Tunsil may make a visit to Michigan.
Run on Tennessee's recruiting class coming?
With multiple reports that Derrick Dooley will be fired at Tennessee, expect other teams to start pursuing the Vols' commitments harder than ever. However, perhaps as a result of the uncertainty of the coaching staff's future, Tennessee's recruiting class is not all that special. It features only five consensus four-star recruits. There will be a lot of talk about making a hire quickly to save the recruiting class, but making the right hire is far more important than making a quick hire just for the sake of recruiting.
Leon McQuay III and family enjoy official visit to Michigan
Leon McQuay took an official visit to Michigan over the weekend and saw the Wolverines defeat the Northwestern Wildcats. The consensus four-star Seffner (Fla.) Armwood safety is quiet and doesn't speak much with the media, but his father spoke with Josh Newberg of 247sports.
"It was a good trip," Leon McQuay II, Leon's father told Noles247's Josh Newberg. They enjoyed the Wolverines 38-31 overtime victory over Northwestern.
"It was a nice game. Defensively they need some help, that was obvious. The vibe was crazy and there was a lot of people. The fans were great, they showed him a lot of love as he walked through the tunnel. He was high-fiving people as he walked out. They got great fans."
McQuay is also still considering USC, Florida State, Vanderbilt and Oregon. He has already officially visited Oregon and Vanderbilt, with trips to Tallahassee and Los Angeles still to come.
Alvin Kamara adds Oregon to mix
Alvin Kamara, a top running back recruit out of Norcross (Ga.) High School, added Oregon to his top three over the weekend.
"Alabama, Georgia and Oregon are my top three," Kamara said.

"I am working on a visit to Oregon," Kamara said. "If I get it all planned, then that will be next week. I just feel that the way they use their running backs fits my game. They flex out their backs in the slot. There is a lot of speed at Oregon, and I feel like I fit that dynamic -- being fast, can run, can catch, can do it all. Coach [Chip] Kelly does a lot of stuff with the offense. That is one of the few teams that I enjoy watching every Saturday. ‘Let me record this game so I can watch it.' "
Kamara, who is a bit of a character, also added this evaluation of two of his top programs.
"If Oregon and Alabama played for the championship, Alabama would win the game," Kamara said. "Because I feel that they play two different types of football. I am looking at it all logically. If you compare schedules and look at the opponents they play, Oregon has not played anybody that can tackle. There is not going to be anybody on Alabama's team that cannot tackle Kenjon Barner. But when Barner plays against UCLA, he is going to look like Jerome Bettis."
Oh hello, angry Oregon fans in the comment section! Kamara does not have a timetable for his decision.

- Irish making a move with Laquon Treadwell? Steve Wiltfong of 247sports says ($) the Irish are making up some ground with the consensus four-star receiver from Crete (Ill.) Monee. Long thought to be a lock to Michigan, the enigmatic Treadwell would be a big get for the Irish.
- Consensus five-star receiver Ricky Seals-Jones, who is considering Texas A&M and LSU, descibed the Aggies win over Alabama as follows: "That game was so live!"
- Marquez North, a consensus four-star receiver from Mallard Creek (N.C.), said late Friday night Tennessee and North Carolina are now his co-leaders. "I've been liking [North Carolina] for awhile," North told 247Sports. "It's Carolina and Tennessee. It's tied really." Most recently, the 6-feet-4, 212-pound North visited the Tar Heels on Oct. 27. Last week, North Carolina coach Larry Fedora took a helicopter to North's game, even though North has been sidelined for the season because of a torn labrum. (247 Sports)
- Kendall Beckwith, a star linebacker from Louisiana, did not make his scheduled visit to Alabama this weekend. Instead, he again visited LSU and saw the Tigers defeat Mississippi State. It is never easy to pull kids out of Louisiana when they have a legitimate LSU offer -- and Beckwith certainly does.
