Schools will soon know the destination of massive offensive tackle recruit Trenton Brown. Out of Milledgeville (Ga.) Military Academy, the 6'8, 350-pound JUCO holds almost 20 offers.
But his list has been narrowed to three in recent weeks: Florida, Florida State and Georgia -- to which Brown was previously committed.
The 6'8, 358-pound lineman currently plays at Georgia Military College. Brown's coach at GMC, Bert Williams, told reporters,
"From what he told me, he felt like he wasn't shot straight with what (Georgia's) plans for him were. I can tell (Brown and his father) were kind of upset with things as far as what they anticipated him playing."
According to Marc Weiszer of Dog Bytes Online, Brown is hoping to play offensive tackle, but was nervous that Georgia coaches would ask him to play guard.
Recently, Brown has been favoring Florida, and took a visit last weekend to see the Gators' win over Jacksonville State (via 247sports);
"Florida leads right now," he said. "They showing the love, they’ve been truthful throughout the whole process.
Florida State, however, still has a shot, as Brown will visit mid-week.
"Trying to see an opportunity, I’m going to see practice and the nitty gritty of what’s really going on," Brown said of Florida State. "I’m not going for a weekend visit and seeing the good stuff, I’m going see what’s really happening at Florida State. I think it will help them to make up some ground coming in so late, but it’s a lot of ground to make up."
Sounds like Florida is the likely destination, but the Gators can't sit too comfortably with Brown taking the visit to Florida State.
