Gene Chizik has only been fired for a few hours, but the Auburn Tigers lost one recruit and may be on the verge of losing a second. The first was receiver JaQuay Williams. The second is Jahmere Irvin-Sills, a consensus three-star athlete from Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian Academy. He spoke with Rivals about his new plans ($) in a story titled "Auburn loses three-star CB Irvin-Sills":
"I'm going to look at other schools, probably Ole Miss and West Virginia," explained Irvin-Sills. "Robert Nkemdiche looking at Ole Miss isn't affecting me, I've never really had any contact with him but I like Ole Miss.
"I was always pretty high on West Virginia," said the three-star recruit. "I took a couple visits and saw a few games. I like the atmosphere and the fans are nice. "
However, this story gets interesting because later Sunday, Irvin-Sills claims to not have decommitted. To whom did he make this claim? Why Rivals, of course:
"I'm still committed to Auburn, I'm not decommitted. I'm not sure, I'm going to take visits to Ole Miss, West Virginia and Auburn. My plan is to wait and see who they hire and then go from there, but I'm still committed."
Chris Anderson of 247sports is one of many who believe Irvin-Sills will not be an Auburn Tiger come signing day.
Been saying for weeks that I thought it was more likely Jahmere Irvin-Sills would end up at #WVU than Auburn. Today obviously helps 'Eers.
