As expected, Florida State defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot has accepted the defensive coordinator position at Kentucky, joining new Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops, the former defensive coordinator of Florida State, according to a report by Coaching Search.

Eliot did a great job with Florida State's defensive ends, and is an up-and-comer in the profession.

The 36-year old Eliot is originally from Oklahoma and coached at Rice before coming to Tallahassee.

Tomahawk Nation recently posed the question if Eliot would be a good choice as Florida State's defensive coordinator, noting that it was quite risky given his complete lack of experience running a defense.

Kentucky is a good entry-level position for a coordinator like Eliot, and an excellent addition to the Kentucky staff.
