With camp fast approaching, Tomahawk Nation is reviewing all of the position groups.

Florida State's high school camp season begins Wednesday, and the June session runs through Friday. The Seminoles currently have 17 commitments, six of which play on the offensive side of the football. With camp approaching, we'll review Florida State's QB recruiting and highlight what the Noles are looking for in the first camp session. QB is a spot where Jimbo Fisher has done extremely well over the years, sending player after player to the draft.

At quarterback, Florida State is set with Malik Henry. Henry has had an interesting high school career, leaving California to attend the IMG Academy in Bradenton (Fla.). But his time in Bradenton was tumultuous, and he ended up leaving the Academy after four months. As of this writing, Henry is without a school, though sources indicate he is going back to California. Henry, who is still scheduled to enroll early, has also battled some hip, shoulder and back issues this off-season, and he recently sat out the second day of the Elite 11 Semifinals due to shoulder soreness.

Despite all this, Henry is widely considered one of the five best QBs in the country and is a five-star recruit because he has a good arm, understands concepts and has a knack for putting the right amount of touch and RPMs on his ball.

One area of interest in camp will be whether FSU finds any quarterbacks for the 2017 class. FSU does not necessarily need to take one in 2017, but it might. Bailey Hockman of Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern would be the top target, but he appears to be Georgia-bound. FSU has not offered any other 2017 QB, so this will be a spot to watch.

It is not certain whether FSU will take a 2017 QB recruit, but it is in tremendous shape with 2018 QB recruit Joey Gatewood, a phenom at 6'3.5, 205 and some of the most impressive film you will ever see from a freshman QB. Gatewood plans to visit Florida State soon and I expect a commitment to Florida State this summer, with Auburn being his No. 2 school.

After signing two QBs in the 2015 class, having Henry in for 2016, and likely having Gatewood, that would be four in a four-year span – which is a good goal – so skipping 2017 would not necessarily be an error.
