One of the more underrated aspects of covering college football recruiting is coming across names that you've never seen before.
In South Florida, it's not uncommon to come across a name or two on a team I've never seen.
But here in Orlando for the Florida 4A State Title game, I was handed the roster for Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington High School. And mercy, is it loaded with unique names the likes of which you have never heard.
Here are the most unique from the 56-man roster:
Krondis Larry
Terrawn McPhee
Treon Harris
Deltron Hopkins
D'von Ballard
Dredrick Snelson
Jaime Taylor
Laqwan Scott
Catravis Hudson
Cornell Roberts
Valery Gue
Keven Bernard
Tyquandre Walker
Deiontae Lynch
Vaquan Smalls
Kemontae Paulk
Osvelt Joseph
And their coach, Tim Harris Jr., goes by "Ice."
Amazing.
Good luck, TV and radio announcers.
Booker T. is not just loaded with great names, but also with talent, as the Tornadoes, known as the "F-5 boys," take on Jacksonville Bolles Saturday night in Orlando. By a conservative count, Booker T. has ten players who could potentially play ball at the FBS level.
