Sandland stands 6'6 and checks in at 250 pounds. He profiles as a receiving tight end, but he has the size to block, as well. Sandland is a consensus four-star recruit. He'll be expected to contribute immediately.
Miami also has a commitment from four-star tight end Standish Dobard, of Louisiana, who is also a three- or four-star recruit. The Hurricanes are known for using tight ends and have a long legacy at the position like Jeremy Shockey, Kellen Winslow II and Jimmy Graham.
