Vanderdoes' commitment gives USC the best pair of defensive tackle recruits in the country.
Eddie Vanderdoes, a top defensive line recruit, committed to the USC Trojans in the early hours of Thursday morning. Vanderdoes released the following message via his facebook page.
Proud To Say Im Committed To The University Of Southern California!...thx to all you who have been there to support me along the way.FIGHT ON!!!
Vanderdoes is an elite recruit. Out of Placer (Calif.) High School, he is rated four or five stars by the major recruiting services. A composite of the four places him as a top five defensive lineman nationally. He holds more than 30 offers and chose the Trojans over the Oregon Ducks and LSU Tigers. Vanderdoes has a wide body and frame at 6'4 and 310 pounds. Yet he has the explosive first step of a much smaller player. He might lack great lateral agility, but does not allow that to become a weakness.
I saw Vanderdoes recently at Nike's The Opening, where he was extremely impressive. Vanderdoes also has excellent length. He is a physical, tough player with a mean streak.
Havnt felt this good in a while! Committed To The University Of Southern California earlier today! I hope people support me still #FightOn

USC now has 14 commitments in its 2013 class, including defensive tackle studs Kenny Bigelow and Vanderdoes. Even with sanctions, USC could take as many as 18 recruits.
