Georgia is making a major effort to keep more of its top players in state. One of those stars is defensive tackle Montravius Adams, of Vienna (Ga.) Dooly County High School. The five-star defensive tackle with offers from Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Florida State, Clemson, Georgia and Florida is in very high demand thanks to his blend of power and quickness.

Over the weekend, he tripped to Athens with his mother for his official visit to Georgia. He spoke with ESPN about Georgia's pitch ($):

"Me and coach [Todd] Grantham watched some of my film and Georgia's film," Adams said. "Coach Grantham showed me what I would be doing. Sometimes I play stand up and play outside and inside linebacker, sometimes I play standup at defensive end, some at nose, and at three-technique, so I would be doing pretty much the same at Georgia. Also they want me to play goal-line fullback here, too."

Adams is 6'3 and close to 300 pounds, so it might seem a little ridiculous for Georgia's defensive coordinator to talk about standing him up, but it's smart business to tell recruits what they want to hear, provided the sell is grounded, however tenuously, in fact.

Adams claims no leader, but most believe that Clemson is the team to beat. Georgia has a strong chance, as does Auburn, where he'll visit this coming weekend. Alabama and Florida seem to be on the outside looking in.
