Alabama, LSU or Florida State is expected to pick up a commitment Wednesday from talented recruit Eddie Jackson.

Out of Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Boyd Anderson High School, Jackson has had one of the more interesting recruitments in the 2013 cycle.

Up until a few months ago, Jackson was completely unknown to all but a select few in South Florida. He did not play football as a junior due to academic issues, and as such, lacked the crucial junior year film that college coaches so often like to evaluate.

That all changed in September. With his grades fixed, Jackson exploded onto the scene, showing that he was one of the best players in all of the tri-county area (Palm Beach, Broward and Dade Counties).

At 6'1 and 175 pounds, Jackson has ideal size to excel at defensive back. With that, he pairs great speed and very good athleticism. Watching his tape, it's easy to see why his offer list exploded as it made its way to the top schools in the country. Jackson also plays receiver, but his true value seems to be at defensive back. He's also not afraid to hit an opposing offensive player.

Jackson's first major offer came from Florida State, and indeed he initially committed to the Seminoles. That commitment lasted less than a day, however, as Jackson's advisors wanted him to consider all options.

Two of those options were SEC powers Alabama and LSU.

Jackson visited Alabama on the 18th, following his visit to Florida State. Shortly thereafter, he named the Crimson Tide his leader. The opportunity to play in the secondary for Nick Saban is a major draw, considering the excellent defenses Alabama produces on a yearly basis.

The next and final trip was to LSU, which is also no stranger to producing excellent defenses. LSU lost a lot of players to the NFL, and can offer Jackson a strong chance to play early.

Bud Elliott's pick: Alabama. While the visit to LSU impressed Jackson, I think coach Jeff Stoutland has this sewn up for the Tide.
