Recruits are visiting all over the country in the final weekend before the dead period as we approach National Signing Day on Feb. 6. Most of the top visits, however, will be taking place in the SEC.
Let's start at No. 1.

The top prospect in the country, Robert Nkemdiche, is visiting LSU this weekend after many didn't think he would do so.
Out of Loganville (Ga.) Grayson High School, Nkemdiche is still very much thought to be a lock (and perhaps a silent commitment who actively recruits for the school behind the scenes) to Ole Miss, but credit Les Miles for getting him on campus. Nkemdiche's teammate, David Kamara, may make the visit with him, but that is as of now unconfirmed.

Alabama is welcoming a superstar defensive line recruit of its own, in Placer (Calif.) Auburn High School's Eddie Vanderdoes. I currently project Vanderdoes, who was once committed to USC, to pick UCLA. But Nick Saban is a master recruiter, and sends defensive linemen to the league pretty regular, so it wouldn't shock me to see the Tide vault into the lead here.
Also of note, Matthew Thomas, a top outside linebacker recruit from Miami, will not make his visit to Georgia this weekend. Thomas has narrowed his list to Alabama, USC, Miami and Florida State, in no order.
Update 2/2 11:45 -- Multiple reports have it that Mississippi State commitment Jarran Reed, an JUCO defensive tackle recruit committed to Ole Miss, is in Tuscaloosa on a visit. Alabama has a strong chance to flip Reed from the Rebels.

The best crop of weekend visitors, however, undoubtedly belongs to the Auburn Tigers. Auburn is welcoming Reuben Foster, the top inside linebacker in the country (and a soft Auburn commitment), Montravius Adams, arguably the top defensive tackle in the country, Carl Lawson, one of the top-three defensive ends nationally, and Elijah Daniel, a top-five defensive end.
I currently project Auburn to sign Foster (over Georgia and Alabama) and Lawson (over Tennessee), while I expect Adams to pick Clemson (over Georgia), and Daniel to maintain his commitment to Ole Miss. All of that can and often does change in the world of recruiting.
Auburn is also welcoming four-star defensive tackle recruit Toby Johnson, and Ro'Derrick Hoskins, a three-star linebacker committed to Florida State. Hoskins has teammates committed to Auburn in Tony Stevens and Dominic Walker, so it would not be a surprise to see Auburn flip, if the Tigers have room, that is.
Update 2/2 11:45 -- Multiple reports have it that Mississippi commitment Peyton Barber, a highly recruited running back, is visiting Auburn. He is a teammate of Carl Lawson, and this is a situation to watch.

Ole Miss is by far the hottest recruiting team in the country and is chasing all sorts of uncommitted recruits. One of them is offensive guard Wilson Bell, from Mobile, Ala., who blew up at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game recently, earning offers from Florida State, Auburn and Ole Miss. Bell is rated as a three-star recruit, and Florida State holds a slight lead for him.
More important than Bell, however, is be Jarran Reed. Reed is one of the top JUCO defensive tackle recruits nationally, and is an Ole Miss commitment. Florida and a few other SEC schools are hard charging for his signature, and Ole Miss will be looking to remind Reed why he signed with Ole Miss in the first place.
As it turns out, Reed will not be making the scheduled visit.
One prospect who will make the visit, however, is Christian Morris, a current UCLA commit who is also considering flipping to Tennessee.
Update 2/2 11:45-- Multiple reports have it that Mississippi State commitment Chris Jones is on an unofficial visit (meaning that he pays for the visit, not the school). Jones, who by some is rated No. 2 nationally, brought his parents with him on the trip. Some reports now indicate that Jones is back home for a visit with Mississippi State coaches.

Florida will be welcoming four four-star type prospects to Gainesville this weekend.
Up first is receiver James Clark, of New Smyrna Beach (Fla.) High School. Clark is an explosive slot receiver, and Florida needs to add explosiveness to its offense. Clark is also considering Ohio State and Clemson, but I currently project him to sign with Florida.
Another player I project to sign with Florida is Jay-nard Bostwick, an athletic four-star defensive tackle out of Port St. Lucie (Fla.) West Centennial. I've long thought Bostwick would sign with Florida over Miami.
The Gators also expect JUCO quarterback Tanner McEvoy in for a visit. McEvoy is a big QB at 6'6 and 215 pounds, and has the athleticism to perhaps play another position if need be. The Gators need depth in case Jeff Driskel is injured, particularly since Jacoby Brissett transferred to N.C. State. West Virginia is also a strong player for McEvoy, who attends Arizona Western College, but is originally from back East in New Jersey.

Tennessee has already exceeded recruiting expectations under Butch Jones.
This weekend, the Volunteers will look to improve that late start, as they welcome four-star receiver Tyler Boyd. Out of Clarion (Pa.) High School, Boyd has had a wild recruitment and is currently committed to Pittsburgh. Tennessee has been trying to flip him for a while, and this is their last shot.
Another committed recruit expected to visit Tennessee is four-star linebacker E.J. Levenberry, who has had a similarly interesting recruitment. Once high on the Volunteers, Levenberry was turned off during a visit to Knoxville, but a coaching change has apparently smoothed things over for the Volunteers. Can they flip the FSU commitment? It's very possible, although I am currently projecting him to stick with his commitment to Florida State.
Finally, Tennessee will welcome three-star defensive end Malik Brown, an active player out of Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Dwyer High School. Brown is currently committed to Syracuse. Does Tennessee have a spot for Brown, or are the Volunteers keeping him on the back burner until they hear about the plans of Lawson and Davin Bellamy? We shall see.
