Jalen Ramsey, a former USC commitment, is expected to sign with the Florida State Seminoles Wednesday on National Signing Day.
Ramsey has been a tenuous commitment to the Trojans -- at best -- for months, and was heavily considering the Florida Gators and the Florida State Seminoles as well. Florida State's coaching staff has been told that Ramsey will sign with the Seminoles, and the coaches for the Trojans and Gators have also been informed of such.
It was a tough battle for the cornerback recruit from Brentwood, Tennessee, who had been committed to USC for months.
Ramsey stands 6'1 and weighs 190 pounds. He is an excellent athlete and will contend for playing time immediately in the Florida State secondary, as well as on special teams.
The move was not unexpected, as SB Nation Recruiting actually projected Ramsey to join the Seminoles.
Ramsey is the top remaining corner in the country, and he's a long-time commitment to the USC Trojans. But his commitment is anything but solid, and both the Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles have built strong relationships with the five-star. In the end, it will be the Seminoles' new defensive coordinator, Jeremy Pruitt, bringing Ramsey to Tallahassee.
