It appears that there may soon be a conclusion to the wildest story of National Signing Day 2013.
That story?
Alex Collins, the five-star running back from Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) South Plantation High School, committed to Arkansas Monday. And he was all set to sign with the Razorbacks Wednesday, but his mom, with whom he does not live, or with whom he did not love for a time while living with his coach, stole and ran off with his letter of intent, as she wants him to attend Miami and stay close to home.
As it turns out, however, Collins might have a family member sign for him (assuming he has procured a new letter from Arkansas), and fax it in.
A trusted source actually told me this week that it would not surprise him if Collins was forced to track down his dad and have him sign, because his mom was so obstinate throughout the process.
Richard Davenport of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is hearing similar things.
It appears another family member will sign Alex Collins' NLI

Alex hasn't signed yet. Things are going in that direction. Nothing official until he signs on the NLI
