The Miami Coral Reef (Fla.) product claims offers from Clemson, Florida State, Notre Dame, Florida, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Ohio State and West Virginia, plus a handful of others.
The 6'0, 180-pound McCrary is a consensus four-star recruit. 247 has him timed as running a 4.51 40, and Rivals considers him one of the top 200 players at any position in the nation.
Bud Elliott, National Recruiting Analyst: Some recruits project as good football players down the line based on potential, and some are already good players. McCrary fits into the latter. He isn't the biggest, strongest or fastest receiver recruit in South Florida, but he is one of the best.
McCrary has a good feel for the receiver position and is very smooth. He knows how to run routes and set up opposing defensive backs. McCrary is a tough receiver who is not afraid to go across the middle and take big hits while catching poorly-thrown footballs in traffic, often elevating to do so. He uses all of his size and power in his game, and while he lacks elite speed and moves, McCrary can be difficult for opposing defenders to tackle. McCrary is more quick than fast, and may be more of an underneath target than a deep threat at the college level. He is also a willing run blocker and does it all for Coral Reef High School, including playing cornerback and special teams.
McCrary profiles as a very good, multi-year starter as a No. 2 at the better schools on his list, but he could also be a No. 1 if he were to choose a lesser offer.
