Rock Hill, South Carolina quarterback prospect Mason Rudolph announced his verbal commitment to the Oklahoma State Cowboys Wednesday. The 6'4, 210-lb. signalcaller chose the Cowboys over a final list that included Virginia Tech and LSU. His decision came just days after an unofficial visit to Virginia Tech's campus.

Rudolph, an incoming senior at Rock Hill's Northwestern High, is a consensus three-star recruit. He received three-star grades from 24/7, Rivals, and Scout, though ESPN gave him four stars.

In two seasons as a starting quarterback, he has thrown for more than 6,600 yards and 68 touchdowns. Rivals, 24/7, and ESPN all have Rudolph listed among the top 20 pro-style quarterbacks in the nation -- ESPN has him ranked as high as eighth overall -- while Scout places him #44 among all quarterbacks. Three scouting services -- again, Rivals, 24/7, and ESPN -- rank Rudolph among the top 15 recruits in talent-rich South Carolina, as well.

In addition to LSU, Oklahoma State, and Virginia Tech, Rudolph received scholarship offers from Louisville, Ole Miss, and Virginia.
