Florida State took the practice field for the first time Tuesday, and everything positive our insiders told us seemed to have been confirmed. Mario Edwards, Jr. does indeed look great, as does Demarcus Walker. Kelvin Benjamin is leaner and more agile. Wilson Bell doesn't look like a freshman offensive tackle. Demonte McAllister doesn't look noticeably smaller after the shoulder surgery. And on and on. Oh, and we are on Mario Pender grade watch.

Update on Pender, I think first reported by Warchant: He's good to go.

Read the full practice report, with video interviews, here.

Also, Jimbo Fisher spoke with us for about an hour yesterday in his presser to kick off the season. Make sure to watch that in its entirety here.

Schoffel column: Two QBs, two styles, one excited coach | Nolesports.com | Tallahassee.com
"They're both from Alabama. They're both built as if they were born to be NFL quarterbacks. They both have strong arms and exceptional athleticism, and Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher is convinced either could lead the 2013 Seminoles to a big season."

Winston is very laid back, and to outsiders, his demeanor might seem immature or non-caring. Coker is extremely intense, and looking to prove something. He clearly believes he can win the job. Good article this morning by Ira Schoffel.

Here's Alan Mundy and a few other Tomahawk contributors bantering back and forth this morning on Twitter.

Good stuff here on the types of blitzes Florida State will eventually run. How much will be run in 2013, or rather how much variation, is as of yet undetermined.
