Every week we review our goals from the preview and check to see how Florida State did against them.

It was garbage time when... Nevada Punted at 3:05 in the third quarter. Florida State had a 45-7 lead at the time.

Offense (3/3)

This was a great performance. We perhaps should have adjusted our goal up some.

More than 7.0 yards a play before garbage time (420 yards on 60 plays, 490 yards on 70 plays)

Florida State gained 11.1 yards/play before garbage time (38 plays for 423 yards), which is fantastic. 59-percent over goal. Wow.

Also, this isn't a goal, or something we track, but FSU scored 1.18 points-per-play before garbage time.

No more than 1 turnover

The early interception was the only one. Check.

75% or greater TDs in the red zone

Three of four red-zone trips before garbage time resulted in touchdowns. Check.

Defense (2/3)

less than 4.5 yards/play before garbage time (270 on 60 plays, 315 on 70)

This goal was for Nevada's starting QB or its top backup. However, the starter did not play, and FSU knocked the backup out of the game right before the half, so keep that in mind.

That said, FSU did hold Nevada to 4.0 yards/play before garbage time (190 yards on 48 plays). That's slightly better than goal, but it does feel weird to say.

Force 2 turnovers

Fail. FSU only forced a single turnover.

50% or less TDs in the red zone

50-percent exactly.

Offense: awesome. Defense? OK, but nothing special, given FSU's talent level and the opponent.
