Florida State added another commitment Monday night. This time, it is from tight end Ryan Izzo, of Sparta (N.J.) Pope John XII School.
Excited to finally announce I am officially committing to FLORIDA STATE university, thankful to God for all his blessing on me !!!
— Ryan Izzo (@IzzoRyan) September 24, 2013
Izzo said that Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston, and the recent official visit to Tallahassee for the Nevada game, played into his decision.
"No doubt it did," Izzo said of the potential of playing with Winston factoring in his decision. "Being able to see all the potential and all Jameis Winston has shown early on, him being a redshirt freshman, that influenced my decision because he’s gonna be the man to get me the ball." -- ESPN ($)
Izzo is 6'6, 220 pounds, and is rated a three-star recruit.
Florida State is now at 24 commitments, and is expected to take close to 30.
