The following email was sent to FSU students. Ya know, because watching potentially the most dominant team in the history of college football play in California could complicate travel plans. Plan ahead, students.

Subject: Spring Semester - First Day Attendance
To: [redacted]

A message from FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY

This message has been approved by Sally McRorie, Vice President for Faculty Development and Advancement, for distribution to all students.

In keeping with the FSU First Day Attendance procedures, all Spring Semester students should alert their instructors ahead of time if they will not be able to return to campus by January 6, 2014.  If no instructor is listed, students should contact the department offering the course.  If instructors are not contacted ahead of time, students missing the first day of classes on January 6 and 7, 2014 will be dropped from those classes.
