The Elite 11 quarterback recruit competition tour rolls on to Washington, D.C. Friday with a stop at the Washington Redskins' facility. The quarterbacks East of the Mississippi have been rather underwhelming to this point in the 2015 cycle, but the D.C. regional could be poised to shake that up a bit, as quite a few top players are expected to participate.
Kai Locksley, the son of Maryland offensive coordinator, holds more than 20 offers including Maryland, Florida State and Auburn. Brandon Wimbush, of Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peters Prep, holds more than 30 including Penn State and Ohio State.
Elijah Robinson, of Montclair (N.J.) holds offers from Michigan State, Nebraska and Rutgers. Nick Marsilio, of Harrisburg (Pa.) Bishop McDevitt, holds offers from Akron, Pitt and Temple. Nick Johns, of Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga, claims offers from Maryland, Virginia and N.C. State.
And plenty of top underclassmen are also expected on hand.
2016 QB Jarrett Guarantano, out of the famed Bergen Catholic in New Jersey, already claims more than 20 offers. Dwayne Haskins, of the Bullis School in Maryland, already claims offers from Nebraska, Arizona State and Utah. Avery McCall, of Dillon (S.C.), already holds offers from South Carolina, Clemson, LSU, Tennessee and others. And Brandon McIlwain, of Council Rock (Pa.) North, holds more than 15 offers, including Penn State, South Carolina and Auburn.
2017 QB Kasim Hill, of the Gilman School in Maryland, already claims offers from Michigan State and Syracuse. And class of 2018 QB Tyler DeSue, of Virginia Beach (Va.) Princess Anne already holds an offer from Virginia.
The quarterback recruits will try to win an invite to the Elite 11 Finals, which take place in Oregon in early July, before Nike's The Opening showcase. All will look to improve their mechanics, footwork and overall ability to play the position.
