LSU will be trying to pull the upset of No. 1 Alabama this weekend in Baton Rogue. The electric crowd of Tiger Stadium will help the Tigers on the field, but it will also be sure to impress the big group of talented recruits in attendance for the Tigers.
In addition to the majority of LSU's excellent recruiting class, the majority of which is local and should be in attendance, here are some top uncommitted players LSU will be looking to bring in.
The star of the show is Greg Gilmore, a jumbo defensive end from Hope Mills (NC) South View High School. At 6'4 and 275 pounds, Gilmore may very well grow into a defensive tackle before all is said and done. He is a consensus four-star recruit and is also heavily considering Florida and Oklahoma, though LSU is thought to have a very good shot with him.
The visit is very important because Gilmore's mom is accompanying him on the trip, and she is apparently quite fond of Florida.
Also making the trip to see the Tigers and the Tide is another talented defensive lineman in Christian Lacouture, a top defensive end from Lincoln, Neb., who recently de-committed from the Cornhuskers. An excellent scouting report on Lacouture is available here by SB Nation's Wescott Eberts. He is a consensus four-star defensive line recruit at 6'4 and 270 pounds.
And as the battle between LSU and Texas A&M continues to wage on for talented Texas receiver Ricky Seals-Jones, he too will likely be in attendance. LSU has always had a strong connection with Seals-Jones, and has a good shot to pull the talented Texas prospect who was once thought to be a lock for Austin before his de-commitment from the Longhorns.
Also in attendance will be massive 2014 offensive tackle recruit Cameron Robinson. At this early juncture, 2014 appears to be a good year for offensive tackles, and Robinson should turn out to be one of the best. A massive 6'6 and 300-plus-pound junior, Robinson moves much better than one would expect for his size and age. He will be a 30+ offer recruit when all is said and done, and LSU rarely lets prospects from its back yard leave the state.
