In the Thursday Night game, Florida State opened as a 12-point favorite over the Virginia Tech Hokies. The line is interesting, as the Seminoles were favored by 11.5 in Sportsbook.com's future lines as late as last Wednesday. That it moved only a half-point is curious, and probably indicative of Vegas acknowledging FSU's poor play on the road and that Virginia Tech's loss came mostly as a result of its own mistakes, as opposed to being physically dominated by the Hurricanes.
Speaking of the Hurricanes, Miami is favored by three at Virginia in a game that will go a long way toward deciding the Coastal Division championship. Miami currently leads with a 4-2 ACC record.
In SEC action, Alabama opens as a massive 15.5-point favorite as the Tide plays host to Texas A&M. Hangover, anyone?
Another interesting line is Louisville -3 at Syracuse. Las Vegas is basically saying that the Cardinals, despite their undefeated record, are only about a field goal better on a neutral field. Does that seem a bit low to you?
Wisconsin is favored by a touchdown at Indiana. That seems like a strong stance by the bookmakers against the Hoosiers. They clearly don't want bettors to be able to wager on Wisconsin at less than a touchdown.
In other Big Ten action, Nebraska is hosting Penn State and is favored by 8.5 points.
And in the Big 12, Oklahoma State is a solid 8-point favorite as it welcomes West Virginia to Stillwater.
