‘Noles Set Program Win Streak
With a 37-12 victory over The Citadel, Florida State extended its win streak to a new program record of 18 games. The previous mark was 17 straight from Aug. 28, 1999 to Oct. 7, 2000.
Never Trailing in the Regular Season
Following its win over The Citadel, Florida State has now gone 611 minutes and 49 seconds (611:49) without trailing in a regular season game.
Feasting on the Unranked
The Seminoles improve to 28-0 against unranked competition when they are the No. 1 team in the Associated Press Poll.
Aguayo’s Kick Streak
Redshirt sophomore place kicker Roberto Aguayo made seven more kicks on Saturday, including four extra points and three field goals. He now has made 59 consecutive kicks, including 44 straight PAT’s and 15 straight field goals.
O’Leary Ties Career High
Senior tight end Nick O’Leary tied his career high with five catches, posting 51 yards and a touchdown. O’Leary is now just 73 yards away from tying former Seminole Gary Parris (1970-72) for the most receiving yards by an FSU tight end (1,125 yards). O’Leary has 1,052 yards for his career.
Heading North Up the Stat Sheet
Junior Mike linebacker Reggie Northrup posted the second double-digit tackle performance of his career against The Citadel. Northrup picked up 10 tackles on the evening.
Freddie’s Receptions
Sophomore Freddie Stevenson posted two catches for 18 yards equaling his career highs in both receptions and yards set as a freshman over 12 games in 2013.
30-Point Threshold
Florida State’s 31-0 lead over The Citadel early in the second half kept another streak intact. The Seminoles now have scored 30 points or more in 17 consecutive games.
Haplea With the Grab
Redshirt senior tight end Kevin Haplea recorded a 10-yard reception from Sean Maguire with nine minutes left in the game, marking Haplea’s first catch since the 2012 season after he missed the 2013 with a season-ending knee injury.
First Time for Paydirt
Two Seminoles recorded the first touchdowns of their careers against The Citadel. Sophomore wideout Jesus "Bobo" Wilson scored on a 12-yard pass from Jameis Winston, while freshman tailback Dalvin Cook scampered in for a five-yard rushing TD for his first score of his career.
Mitchell Looks Mighty
Redshirt junior defensive end Derrick Mitchell Jr. tallied a career-high four tackles, twice his previous career high of two against Idaho in 2013.
No Forced Turnovers
FSU’s streak of forcing at least one turnover came to an end Saturday night at 20 games.
