Florida State football season win total bet odds released

What are your thoughts on Florida State's 9.5 line?

Florida State's season win total line was set Tuesday by 5dimes Casino and Sportsbook at 9.5, with over bettors getting even money and under bets priced at -140 (betting $140 to net $100). The recent addition of Notre Dame transfer QB Everett Golson seems to have pushed the Seminoles up about a half win over the projected number of 9 that some industry experts were expecting. It should be noted that these prop bets are offered at very low limits and higher juice than normal to protect the Casino against liability. Such is the cost for wanting lines so early in the summer. As always, lines are for 12 games only -- no conference title games or bowl games.

The rough implication here is that the most likely records are, in order (bell curve): 9-3, 10-2, 8-4, 11-1, 7-5, 12-0, 6-6, other. Florida State is going for its fourth consecutive ACC title and has gone 39-3 in the last three seasons, though almost all of the Seminoles best players have left the program and the team will be extremely young in 2015.

Several of Florida State's 2015 opponents are lined.

Boston College is at 5.5 (-135 over/-105 under), Clemson is at 8.5 (-170/130), Georgia Tech at 7.5 (-160/120), Louisville at 7.5 (105/-145), Miami at 5.5 (-160/120), Syracuse at 4.5 (-125/-115), Wake Forest at 3.5 (-125/-115), NC State at 7.5 (-105/-135) and Florida at 7.5 (-125/-115).

Ohio State, Baylor, TCU, Marshall, Wisconsin, Alabama, Boise State, Michigan State and Oregon have higher odds than the Seminoles, who are also tied with UCLA.

Interestingly, the Seminoles are just a 2-point favorite in Gainesville, where FSU will be going for its third-straight road win in the series.

What do you think? Would you bet this line? Or does Las Vegas have the Seminoles pegged with a solid number? Vote in our poll.
