Late last week, the Golden Nugget casino in Las Vegas released its lines for many of the top college football games of the year. For the most part, they do not differ all that much from the numbers released by online casino 5Dimes earlier in the season.
Florida State is an underdog of two points at Clemson, and even at Georgia Tech. The Seminoles are favored by 4.5 points at Florida and by 13 and 13 when hosting Miami and Louisville, respectively. That is consistent with expectations that FSU win 9 or 10 regular-season games.
Given that home field in college football is worth 3.5 or 4 points, that means that FSU would be favored by a point or two over Clemson on a neutral field and by three or four against Georgia Tech.
Miami is an underdog four times, including at Cincinnati, and is a pickem against Nebraska. They are favored by single digits or less in three additional games. The Gators are an underdog five times and are single-digit favorites against Tennessee. Florida and Miami seem likely to lose a combined 9-12 games based on these lines.
Interestingly, Clemson is favored in all six games, but by less than a touchdown in all six lined contests, suggesting an expected record of 4-2 or 3-3 in those.
