But watch out for Georgia and Florida.

FRISCO, Texas — Saturday brought the nation’s best quarterback, receiver and tight ends recruits to North Texas for The Opening Finals’ first day. One of those tight ends is Lakeland (Fla.) High tight end Keon Zipperer.

Zipperer is 6’2.5, 240, and very athletic. More than 30 schools have offered, including all three in-state powers.

And that means a lot of options for taking visits, plus camp invites.

“I’m trying to get up to Friday Night Lights Camp at Florida on July 27,” Zipperer said. “But on that same [weekend], Florida State, Alabama, Miami; all my schools who offered me want me to come up.”

For Zipperer, the weekend will be a bit of a celebration.

“All those camps are on the 27th and 28th, and my birthday is on the 27th. I’m gonna go somewhere where I can have fun at. Out of state somewhere, probably, like Georgia.”

Pittman lights up when he talks about Georgia.

“I’m close, very close with Georgia. I talk with coach Pittman a lot.”

Yet it was two other schools Zipperer named when asked who has done enough to have finalist spots locked in.

Zipperer doesn’t have a Top-5, but says that Alabama and Oklahoma will for sure be in it until the end for him.

“Those two schools, I know for sure they’re going to be hats on my table when I commit. I’m close with them.”

Zipperer says he already knows where he wants to go, but just isn’t saying it yet. Instead, he is “just making sure his gut is right” by taking more visits.
