Linebacker recruit Trey Johnson committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes during the Under Armour All-America Game Friday.
Out of Lawrenceville (Ga.) Central Gwinnett High School, Johnson was a long-time Auburn commitment. He backed off the commitment, however, after Auburn's tumultuous season and subsequent staff changes, and considered several schools including Ohio State, Florida and Florida State.
Ohio State has done a great job with his recruitment. Johnson connected with the Ohio State defensive staff and head coach Urban Meyer.
Johnson is a solid linebacker recruit. He should eventually be able to play at 230 pounds on his 6'2 frame. Johnson has good balance and has practiced hard during the time I saw him this week at Under Armour, and is deserving of his four-star rating.
Johnson is the 20th commitment of the 2013 class for the Buckeyes, and the only linebacker commit, according to Rivals' player ratings.
