Ole Miss is off to another strong start in 2014 recruiting.
Ole Miss had one of the top 2013 recruiting classes thanks to a surprising season, dynamic coaching staff, and some special existing relationships with top prospects.
And the Rebels are off to a strong start for the class of 2014 as well, perhaps riding the wave of momentum from the excellent 2013 class.
Commitments since National Signing Day: D.K. Buford, Tyler Putman, Dayall Harris
Current Class
D.K. Buford, Oxford (MS) Lafayette High School: Buford committed shortly after National Signing Day. A 5'10, 190-pound running back, he is a consensus four-star recruit, and chose the Rebels, who offered first, over an offer from MIssissippi State.
C.J. Hampton, Meridian (MS) High School: A 6'1, 185-pound defensive back, Hampton also claims offers from Auburn, Mississippi State, Indiana and Louisiana Lafayette. Hampton is a consensus four-star recruit, and is widely considered one of the best ten prospects in the state.
Ronald Walker, Jackson (MS) Callaway High School: Walker plays both receiver and safety for his high school. At 6'1 and 170 pounds, he had the size to play either spot, and is rated as a consensus three-star recruit and one of the 15 best players in the state.
Tyler Putman, Southaven (MS) Desoto Central High School: Putman is a developmental offensive line recruit. At 6'5 and 255 pounds, he has the frame to play at a high level. But any time a projection involves increasing a player's size by 20-percent, things are far from guaranteed. Putman is a consensus three-star recruit, a top-25 player in the state, and also claims a Mississippi State offer.
Dayall Harris, Jackson (MS) Callaway High School: Harris is a teammate of Walker, and like Walker, also plays receiver. Harris' only listed offer, as of Feb. 25, is from Ole Miss.
Verbal commitments are non-binding and change frequently. National Signing Day is almost a year away.
