Alec Eberle has committed to Florida State. Eberle is a consensus three-star offensive line recruit. He plays for Mechanicsburg (VA) Atlee High School.
Eberle also holds offers from Maryland and UConn. He was also on Virginia Tech's radar.
Eberle is 6'4 and 270 pounds, which means he will play guard or center. He's a redshirt candidate and not someone who should be expected to play early.
Florida State now has nine commitments and is expected to take a big class. Eberle is the first offensive line commitment, and the Noles plan to take at least five more on the line.
I have not evaluated Eberle and will have something on him in the morning. I will note, however, that teams typically do not take scrubs this early in the process. I imagine there is something Florida State sees in Eberle. I'm just not sure what it is at this point in time.
