Jabrill Peppers is one of the top recruits in the country. Out of Paramus (N.J.) Catholic High School, he holds offers from every major school in the country. Peppers stars at a number of positions, but is primarily looked at as a cornerback recruit. Peppers checks in at 6'1 and 205 pounds.
Bud Elliott, National Recruiting Analyst: Peppers already looks like an NFL player and is one of the best players I'll scout this year.
Peppers is a physical man-to-man cover cornerback. He's bigger than most of his competition, and he knows how to use his power to dominate them.
A man of Peppers' size should not be able to turn and run like he can with the smoothness that he shows. His ability to accelerate at 200-plus pounds is excellent. His top-end speed is also quite good. Peppers has explosive vertical skills, which paired with his height and length, make him a big asset in the red zone.
Peppers also shows a good feel for the game and makes plays independent of his physical tools.
Some of the competition Peppers faces isn't great, so he isn't quite as fast as he might appear in some of the clips, but he's still excellent.
As a returner, Peppers shows good vision and change of direction. He knows when to gas it, and when to throttle down and pick his way through traffic.
Peppers profiles as an immediate starter as a defensive back, an immediate contributor on offense should he elect to play on that side of the ball and definitely an asset in the return game, regardless of the position he chooses to play. Peppers also has strong academics.
