Zack Darlington is one of the top quarterback recruits in Florida, and Friday, he committed to the Nebaska Cornhuskers. He stars at quarterback for the state champion Apopka High School. Darlington stands 6'2, and weighs in at 207 pounds. He is rated as a three-star recruit by 247, Rivals, and Scout and a four-star by ESPN. Darlington has offers from Arizona, Boston College, Minnesota, N.C. State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
I have seen Darlington in person a handful of times and have reviewed his film. From that, I produced his scouting report a few months ago. Darlington is a smart, savvy quarterback who makes plays with his feet and his arm. Nebraska fans could think of him as a slightly less athletic Taylor Martinez, but with much, much better ability to throw the ball, and a greater feel for the game with fewer dumb decisions.
