As expected, David Cornwell has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Cornwell, the No. 1 quarterback recruit in the country according to many, had long favored the Tide. He also held offers from Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Auburn, plus many more. He is a four- or five-star recruit, depending on the service. Cornwell plays for Norman North High School.

Cornwell was recently in a battle with the governing body of Oklahoma's high school athletics over his eligibility. He won and will be able to play his senior season. You can read more about the appeal here.
Cornwell stands 6'5, weighs 225 pounds, and has good athleticism for his size. He also has a rocket arm and is basically built like a college senior right now. While he will be 19 before graduating high school, his physical stature is still very impressive. Cornwell's full scouting report is available here.
Cornwell has been selected to participate in the Elite 11 Finals in Beaverton, Ore., in late June. There, SB Nation Recruiting will catch up with him again.
