Wednesday was another busy day of recruiting.
Auburn cleans up
Auburn had a huge day with the junior college players Wednesday, bringing in four. The best player was five-star D'Haquille Williams, an incredible receiver. But the most significant might have been DaVonte Lambert, a four-star defensive lineman the Tigers flipped from Tennessee.

Southern safety situation
There is an interesting safety recruiting situation brewing involving LSU and Alabama. First, four-star Hootie Jones of Monroe, La., committed to Alabama over LSU. Then, LSU turned up the heat on Jamal Adams, a fellow star safety from Texas. Adams reciprocated, and LSU vaulted to the top (or near the top, depending on who you believe) of his list. Then, Texas coach Mack Brown retired, and Adams eliminated Texas. This left LSU and Florida as the main contenders for his signature. Adams also added in Ole Miss as a contender, but most don't believe the Rebels are truly in it for Adams. Then, four-star safety C.J. Hampton, an Ole Miss commit until Wednesday night, announced that he would make a final decision on Friday. Most believe that decision will be to flip to Alabama. Also Wednesday, Jones decommitted from Alabama, which puts LSU back in the picture.
What does all this mean? What will LSU do if both Adams and Jones want in? Which player does LSU prefer? Are politics at play? Let's have a recruiting analyst from our LSU site explain it:
Here's my honest to god take on Hootie Jones: Staff likes/has liked Adams more for a while. Can't afford to not recruit a top Louisiana guy.

But it still looks like they tried. Now Hootie is re-thinking leaving home for whatever reason. So the question is, does LSU make/have room?

Welcome To The U, Calvin Heurtelou, maybe? - State of The U: Reports swirled about JUCO DT Calvin Heurtelou. Some say he's coming to Miami. Others, not. Which is it? Miami badly needs as much defensive line help as it can get (see: Duke rushing for 300+ yards on the Hurricanes). Almost any big body will help.
Nebraska Recruiting Update: Nebraska Gets Mixed Results In December - Corn Nation: The Huskers hit it hard up to the dead period... with mixed results.
Michigan lost its most impressive commitment in the class of 2015 when wide receiver George Campbell dropped the Wolverines. What's next? Despite that, Michigan's junior recruiting is going well. The key for Michigan in the 2015 class will be what happens on the field in 2014. After a while, the hype of a new coach wears off, and if that coach isn't winning at the level of expectations, recruits take notice because other recruiters let them know.
Arkansas -- Sebastian Tretola Commits To Arkansas - Arkansas Fight: Juco offensive lineman has two years to play two seasons. But Arkansas was not done Wednesday...
