After an impressive spring game, Jayvaughn Myers picks up more offers
The recruitment of the Nate Craig-Myers, the No. 1 receiver recruit in the country took an interesting turn Thursday morning as Florida State extended an offer to his half brother, Jayvaughn Myers.

Less than an hour later, Auburn went ahead and pulled the trigger on an offer as well.

These are potentially very important offers.
Craig-Myers, of Tampa Catholic, is a former Auburn commitment who recently decommitted from Auburn, a move that was not unexpected. Most in the recruiting industry who have weighed in, expect Craig-Myers at Florida State.
While maintaining that he and his half brother were not a package deal, Craig-Myers had nonetheless campaigned for Myers to get major offers. Many schools were reluctant to do so until seeing him in person at Dade City (Fla.) Pasco High School, because while his film was good, it might not have been at the level of the schools recruiting his five-star brother.
Schools also wanted to verify his height and weight (6'0, 175), and ensure that he could play cornerback, not safety. Myers put on a show in his spring game (see highlights, above), which was probably enough to push schools to offer.
Whether Myers, rated a three-star, is receiving these offers because of his brother is open for debate, but it is worth noting that some schools who do not appear to be strongly in the running for his five-star brother have also offered, like Florida, Miami, Mississippi State, Wisconsin and Louisville, suggesting perhaps that Myers is worthy of the offers independently of his brother. Myers was also invited on Thursday to play in the U.S. Army All-American Game.
Even so, the quickness with which Auburn followed the Florida State offer with one of its own shows just how important Jayvaughn could be in the recruitment of Nate. If Auburn is to regain Craig-Myers' commitment, it likely cannot do so without offering Myers, especially when the school closer to home has done so.
Neither of the brothers has set a definite timeline of when they want to commit, but both are expected to again visit Florida State and Auburn again this summer and fall.
